The advantages are a much lower cost than off-site strain improvement services and also the development of your strains and processes in-house avoids the scale-up problems which occur when transferring strains and processes from one location to another. From our experience in all aspects of the fermentation and pharmaceutical industry, Dragon Associates is able to advise on all microbial aspects of process improvement, from the design, equipping and establishment of microbiology laboratories, through the establishment and development of yield improvement programmes (including genetic engineering techniques) and biotransformation programmes, to scale up, process optimisation, dealing with phage attacks, elimination of impurities, and isolation and purification of the final product.
In over 30 years work in the area of fermentation yield improvement, we have worked on the whole spectrum of microbial metabolites produced by fermentation.
